The bags comply with federal standards for disposal in landfills and will degrade along with gel and waste in six to eight months. Check ahead when using the system on permitted rivers to make sure this system is approved for use. Currently, the Cleanwaste system alone is not approved for use in the Grand Canyon. WAG BAGs, used with a hard-sided container such as an ammobox, are permitted.
